Michael R. Linton is a REALTOR®, a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, and Linton Global Solutions abides by the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. We pledge to protect and promote our clients' interests, to treat every party to a transaction honestly, to provide equal professional service to all, and to cooperate fairly with fellow real estate professionals, in addition to complying with Florida Chapter 475 and every other law that governs our work.
What the Code requires
Adopted in 1913, the Code of Ethics is one of the oldest professional codes in American business. Its 17 Articles are grouped into three sets of duties, and each Article is explained by Standards of Practice. Where the Code and the law differ, the Code's own text says the law takes precedence.
Duties to Clients and Customers
Protect and promote the client’s interests while treating every party honestly; avoid exaggeration, misrepresentation, and concealment of pertinent facts; disclose any personal interest; keep agreements in writing and in plain language.
Duties to the Public
Provide equal professional service without discrimination; stay within your competence; present a true picture in all advertising and representations; never engage in the unauthorized practice of law; cooperate with professional standards proceedings.
Duties to REALTORS®
Make no knowingly false or misleading statements about other real estate professionals; respect other brokers’ exclusive agreements; resolve contractual and specific non-contractual disputes through arbitration.
How it shows up in our work
- Honest representation. We present properties, values, and market data accurately, cite our sources, and say so when the data is thin.
- Disclosed interests. If we or a related company have an interest in a property or transaction, we disclose it in writing before you sign anything.
- Equal service. We serve every client and customer without discrimination. See our Equal Housing Opportunity commitment.
- Clear roles. We are a brokerage, not a lender, and we do not give legal or tax advice.
- Written, plain-language agreements. Every engagement is documented, and our license information is public.

What is the REALTOR® Code of Ethics?
The Code of Ethics is the set of professional standards adopted by the National Association of REALTORS® in 1913. It has 17 Articles grouped into Duties to Clients and Customers, Duties to the Public, and Duties to REALTORS®, with Standards of Practice that explain each Article. The law takes precedence. The Code itself states that its obligations may be higher than the law requires, but where the two conflict, the obligations of the law come first.
How do I raise an ethics concern about a REALTOR®?
Ethics complaints against a REALTOR® are filed with the local REALTOR® association the member belongs to, which handles them through its professional standards process. Complaints about Florida license law go to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
